I need to think about something else...

I have been sitting here reading various articles about the European attempts to round up the 7/7 and 7/21 London Bomb plotters., and I am once again amazed by those who continue to say that there is not a real and ongoing War on Terror. Additionally, earlier this week the Joint Terrorism Task Force made a major arrest. in Newark, NJ...so my question is, why are people still refusing to see that actions are being taken?

It is my view that most of them are doing so from a motive that is purely partisan. If they admit that terrorist threats are out there, they will be forced to admit that the accusations of Republicans "crying wolf" during the campaign were incorrect.

On another note, I found this argument. , made by noted Conservative columnist Charles Krauthammer, that pretty much turns on end the oft stated view that the War in Iraq has been a driving force for terrorist reqruitment...

...especially this portion....

"But let's assume, for the sake of argument, that there are Muslims energized by Iraq--who were not energized by Western colonialism, American imperialism, Hollywood decadence, the Roosevelt-Saud alliance, the Afghan war, Zionism, feminism or other alleged outrages against Islam. They were living contentedly, tending their shoe shop in Riyadh, and all of a sudden they discovered the joys of jihad and the lure of heavenly posthumous sex awaiting them at the other end of a suicide bombing."

...That is pretty difficult to argue.
