Why the sudden flurry of articles on Jesus
...not Religious articles, but rather an odd number of articles dealing with issues like this, and this gem.
Strange that the gospel writers didn't mention the ice chunks in the water that night....and why no mention of a shivering Peter after he began sinking...
Today's special-Jesus asked Judas to betray him.
I will let an expert deal with this one.

Most of the Gospels suggest that Judas was dead pretty quickly after the betrayal...and I would be skeptical of anything Judas would say, since it would likely be self-serving.
The story seems to attempt to alibi Judas, which I find a little suspect, considering the author is supposed to be Judas.
I don't think it stretches reason that far to think that Judas could have been acting in what he thought was his self interest when he betrayed Jesus, only to realize later that he had in fact been the betrayer of the Messiah.
